Second+ Time Around is a workshop for experienced parents who are welcoming their second+ baby. Second+ Time Around offers parents a chance to reconnect and plan for the new baby’s arrival, to learn (and re-learn) valuable information about labor & birth, and to prepare all family members for the big and exciting changes ahead.
Some parents want a chance to reconnect, refresh and focus on this new baby during our time together. Some parents feel afraid and/or unsure about doing this again and need time to process and plan. Some are hoping for a different birth experience this time around. Through discussion, activities, reflection and review, you’ll leave the workshop ready to welcome this new baby into your family with confidence.
Schedule & Registration…
Second+ Time Around is an appropriate workshop experience when both parents have previously attended the birth of their baby. If mom has given birth before, but this is a new baby for the partner, a multi-week class such as Empowered Birth is recommended. If you’re interested in a natural birth this time around, we will talk about the mechanics of birth and comfort measures, but the workshop is not intended to be the sole preparation for natural birth.
Space is limited to 6 couples per session. The cost is $165 and covers the mother and her choice of birth partner. Please make arrangements to have older siblings cared for off site.
If you are birthing at Tree of Life Family Birth Center, Second+ Time Around fulfills the Planning For Postpartum class requirement.
